Cambridge Texts in the History of Political Thought Book Series (29 Books)

Cambridge Texts in the History of Political Thought  Book Series (29 books, Megaupload)
General Editors: Raymond Geuss, University of Cambridge, Quentin Skinner, University of London.
Cambridge Texts in the History of Political Thought is now firmly established as the major textbook series in political theory in the anglophone world, with more than half a million copies distributed since its launch in 1988.
The Cambridge Texts series presents to students all the core texts in the Western political tradition, from ancient Greece to the early twentieth century. All the familiar classic texts like Leviathan or The Prince have been or will be included, but much of the appeal of the series for teachers derives from its expansion of the traditional canon with a substantial range of less well-known works, many translated into modern English for the first time. Wherever possible, texts have been published in their entirety, and translations newly commissioned. Each volume contains a concise critical introduction together with chronologies and biographical sketches as appropriate, guides to further reading and modest textual apparatus, all designed to assist the student reader encountering for the first time these landmarks of western political thought. When complete, the series of Cambridge Texts will comprise over one hundred titles, and will form a comprehensive library of political writing, available in uniquely authoritative and accessible editions.
